Afro-Latino ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star shames for being intense about ‘African Thing’

Afro-Latina rapper with Dominican roots, Amara La Negra is now the subjects of discussion both on social media and mainstream media outlets.

The Love & Hip Hop star met up with producer Young Hollywood for a studio session. Unaware of her, that was a step to experience a horrible show with Young, who unleash a verbal attack on her.

During an engagement that saw the duo bouncing ideas off each other, Young mocked Amara in what is considered a most ‘disdained’ manner.

Young was not kidding in any way as he stood her opinion, rubbishing Amara’s identity. Young says to her, “You’re so intense about this ‘African thing.“

As if that wasn’t enough, Young jokingly raised the Black power fist while she spoke her mind. He further told her that the music industry only wants a “cookie-cutter poster child,” and called Amara a “Nutella queen” before claiming that she was “psychotic” for being offended at all of the crazy shit he said.

After Amara ‘understandably’ walked out of the heated session, Young lightly addressed the controversy in an Instagram post, with the caption “Don’t be so quick to judge & stay tuned to next episode.Otro logro para nuestra cultura” (meaning: “another achievement for our culture”). Most of Amara’s supporters went ahead and ignored his plea, though, coming to her defence across social media platforms.

In what is believed to be a reaction, Amara stood her ground. “I’m extremely proud of my brown skin. I’m proud of my color, of the way that my hair curls… and no one’s gonna take that away from me,” she said during the episode. “Not even Hollywood with his little slick ass comments.” She also tweeted in response to all of the support she’s received since the premiere.
