Founded in 2015, Choosing Nursing is an online program that helps nurses in the United States and Canada sit for their NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN exams and meet the prerequisites for their nursing licenses.
There had been an increment in the number of nursing graduates failing their NCLEX certifications, and the few people that scale through nearly failed with minimum marks required.
In view of the challenges faced by the nursing students, the U.S. Department of Education, reported that around 450 nursing schools have shut down since 1986, and with the current nurse shortage in North America, there are questions as to whether the quality of nurses will be affected by attempts to alleviate the issue by lowering the bar.

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics projected that in 2018, 1.1 million additional nurses would be needed to cover unfilled positions across the country.
“This isn’t just about making sure the nurses that go through my program pass,” said Okeke. “While I do provide what is essentially an NCLEX cheat sheet, it doesn’t work unless the graduate has critical knowledge. My course is ideal for persons who can’t formulate the right study plans or are overwhelmed by the scope of the exams.”
Okeke has been helping students prepare for the NCLEX and extends her services to international students, who have a current pass rate of only 24%.
The professional nurse currently holds the rank of the 37th best YouTube Nursing Channel and recently accepted a Top Nurse award from the International Nurses Association.
