Nicki Minaj hit the VMAs 2023 red carpet looking like a blushing bride in a pink corset paired with a sheer lace veil by Dolce & Gabbana.
Nicki, 40, looked glam in her pastel lingerie and see-through lace mermaid skirt as she prepared to host the evening’s festivities for the second year in a row at the Prudential Center in New Jersey Tuesday night.
Minaj covered her face with a bumblegum pink veil with a delicate lace edging and kept her eyeshadow pastel to match the Barbie-inspired look.
The “Beez in the Trap” rapper wore her long hair sleek and straight and parted down the middle underneath the veil; but she didn’t walk down the aisle and instead walked down the red carpet — and later hit the stage in the same look, struggling to walk thanks to the tight skirt and an unbuckled shoe.
Nicki teased fans with her appearance, tweeting a bathroom mirror selfie clad in black leather and asking, “Why would the @vmas let me host this show??? 😂 knowing I’m… different… 🙃☺️ #Vmas see ya on the 12th NEW YAWWWK.”
The “Barbie World” rapper, who’s nominated for six awards this year including “Best Hip-Hop,” “Video of the Year” and “Artist of the Year,” is premiering her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You” during the MTV Video Music Awards 2023.
For her 2022 MTV VMAs performance, the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper channeled her inner Barbie with bubblegum hair, a crystal-embellished bustier with a heart and a pleated miniskirt.
It’s unclear if Nicki will have multiple outfits throughout the evening, but another pink shimmering number was teased on Twitter ahead of the awards show.
And she’ll have to do some quick changes to keep up with 2021 host Doja Cat, who had a whopping seven outfit changes during her year.
Hopefully, the ultimate Barb embraces her Barbiecore style throughout the evening with a few more ensembles.
