After a hiatus due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Miss Guinée North America organization is set to make a triumphant entry into an upcoming pageant.
“The event is eagerly anticipated,” according to the pageant director, Hawa Barry-Diallo who promised a unique blend of entertainment, education, leadership, beauty, and cultural appreciation.
Barry-Diallo, in an exclusive interview with the Africa Cable Network affiliated news arm,, The African Press, highlighted the cultural significance of Miss Guinée North America, emphasizing its focus on promoting the traditions and ways of life of the African people, particularly within the Guinean community.
The former Guinean supermodel, unfolded new segment–the launch of the first edition of the Queen Mothers of Africa competition–which will be introduced into the 2023 pageant.
“Building on the success of the Queen Mothers of Guinea, this new addition expands the platform to a broader African scope. The Queen Mother competition will showcases African women who embody intellect, beauty, and leadership,” said Barry-Diallo.
“The competition not only crowns a Queen Mother but also provides a valuable platform for promoting their respective nations and contributing to humanitarian projects.” Diallo said.
In light of the challenges posed by the pandemic, this year’s pageant holds even more significance as it marks the comeback of Miss Guinée North America after a three-year hiatus.
“The event is poised to provide an exhilarating experience for the audience, featuring a diverse of entertainment, including performances from artists representing Guinea, Nigeria, Congo, and Mali,” Diallo concluded.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that the contestants will receive an allowance, adding an extra layer of support and recognition for their participation.
The pageant promises to bring together culture, entertainment, and empowerment in a spectacular showcase that celebrates African heritage and beauty.
So far, eleven contestants have won the title since the inception. The reigning queen, Nicole Camara succeeds Rama Dioum in the 11th edition.

The pageant was created to help young Guinean women in the United States to pursue their educational dreams, achieve personal growth, rediscover and take pride in their Guinean heritage, as well as helping to build strong foundation as future leaders.
