American filmmaker and actor, Tyler Perry has joined Viacom family as he secures a major deal under the company’s new leadership.
Following his deal with Viacom, Tyler will produce approximately 90 episodes every year of original drama and comedy content for BET and other Viacom networks.
Moreso, Tyler will adopt the same approach he’s been implementing in his exclusive deal at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, where he has been since 2012.
Once his partnership ends with OWN, Tyler, will be left out of option but to develop new series as the TV/short-form video plan is slated to kick-start by May, 2019.
Enthusiastic Tyler said; “I am eager to have one home where I can leverage all of their assets to tell my stories to an even wider audience.”
